CROCHET: Bobble stitch flower Granny Square with leaf detail

BOBBLE STITCH FLOWER WITH LEAF DETAIL
GRANNY SQUARE PATTERN 2011

Great as a rainbow border or 
an all over blanket made in one colour or several...have fun.

updated pattern: US Terms and UK Terms in red brackets

DK, 4mm hook
ARAN 5mm hook
CHUNKY 6mm hook
Works with all yarns for different size squares.

Ch4 and sl st into a circle or a one finger wrap of 6wraps.

Round 1: 8sc [8dc], into circle sl st to complete round
change colour

Round 2: Att. petal colour with a sc [dc], in the same st, do a cluster of 3tr [3dtr], ch1,
* sc [dc], into next st, repeat cluster of 3 tr [3dtr], in each st, sl st to complete. (8 bobble petals)

NOTE: Make sure all your petals 'pop' to the front.

Round 3:att. green between 2 bobbles, ch2 counts as first dc [tr], 2dc [2tr],  repeat 3dc [3tr], in each sp, sl st to complete. (8 leaves)
It now looks like a circle.

Round 4: Att. back ground colour in one of the sp,  ch2, counts as first dc [tr], 2dc [2tr],  ch3, 3dc [3tr], corner, 3sc, [3dc], in next sp, repeat until you have 4 corners and 4 sides sl st. to complete.

Make several and join as you go or yo can add more granny square rounds to make a bigger square

MOSS STITCH BORDER...A requested tutorial

A simple but effective stitch for great colourful borders

MOSS STITCH AS A BORDER
use a different colour for every round

US Terms in black with UK Terms in brackets in red
Tweed, stripes and spots

This stitch can be done in a tweed look..different colour every round.
 As a stripe in two colours used alternately used.
Or used to make spots by using the spot colour every third row in a back ground of one colour

Basic Moss Stitch
Round 1: start in a corner, sc, [dc], ch3, sc [dc], in the corner sp, miss a st, sc [dc], in the next st, ch 1, miss a st, repeat to end of row, repeat corner sc [dc],  ch3, sc [dc], continue to repeat side and corner stitches, to end sl st to complete cut off and weave in ends

Round 2: change colour and repeat round 1

Mark 2 Mat from a cross stitch design, didn't have all the colours that i really needed for the shading of the flower, so I can see another order of specific colours coming on maybe...

So much fun until i tipped the bucket of 10,000 beads in the bed...silly me a tray next time i think would be a good idea
