1finger wrap of 4 wraps, or ch 5, sl st into circle
Round 1: 2dc [2tr], ch2, 2dc [2tr], ch2, repeat for 6pairs of 2dc [2tr], sl st to complete.
Round 2: Cluster 3tr [3dtr], ch3, cluster 3tr [3dtr], in same ch2 sp, ch3, repeat for all all 6 ch2 sp. sl st to complete
Round 3: 5dc [5tr], in every ch3 sp, sl st to complete.
Round 4: sc [dc], in each of 5dc, [5tr], of one section, tr frp [dtr frp], around 'petal' repeat for all 12 petals. sl st to complete.
Round 5: sc [dc], in every st, sl st to complete
Round 6: sc [dc], in first 3sc [3dc], dc frp [tr fry], around the 3rd of the 5dc [5tr], of round 3, sc [dc], in second 3sc [3dc], dcfrp [tr frp], around tr fry [dtr fry], of round 4 repeat to end, sl st to complete.
NOTE: Stop about here for a coaster
Round 7: 3dc [3tr], granny shell, in each of the dc frp [tr frp], to end, sl st to complete.
Round 8: dc [tr] in 1st, st of granny shell 2dc [2tr], in 2nd st of the granny shell, dc [tr], in 3rd st of granny shell repeat to end, sl st to complete.
Makes a mat of approx.7" across
i will add 3/4 more rounds next week to this mat but I'm afraid paper is top of the list today.
probably something like this to finish the mat off...and pointed edging stitch
