Granny Square Double cushion covers
to get a really decorative cushion cover cover a cushion cover with a giant granny square....big enough to fold round a cushion and meet in the middle, tie the ends together and add a motif
this granny square made with a colourful tweedy mix of 3strands and a 7mm hook tied over a stripy cuhion cove to give the peek hole effect
Happy Hooking
That is really effective. I'll have to keep that in mind for future crafty endeavours.

DeleteWhat a lovely idea, it really looks affective. I think I remember a post you did about moss stitch and cushions. I may be wrong
ReplyDeleteI had a go at making a cushion cover, but it has gone all stretched and baggy, so now it looks horrible. The yarn I used was 100% acrylic, so maybe for cushions I should use something else.
Sad really, as I was so pleased with it when I had finished it.
Hi..thanks.
DeleteYes acrylics stretch so after a bit you need to make them a bit smaller or un pick and re make. It does help if you make them quite a tight fit in the firat place the stretch does seem to happen in the length and not the width which is handy if you want to take ot a few stripes, i did with my stripy cushions a onth or so ago.
Acrylic and Merino worked together mkes for a better lasting cushion cover
hope that helps?

Hi Sue..your work is lovely! I have never picked up a knitting needle and have always wanted to. My daughter takes great comfort in knitting away, I envy her. Thank you for your comment today...it was very kind of you. I think you have a beautiful Zen place right here!
